Vice President Li Jie Attended the 26th Eurasian Economic Summit

From Mar. 13 to 15, 2023, at the invitation of Marmara Group Strategic and Social Research Foundation (hereinafter referred to as Marmara Group Foundation), Amb. Li Jie, Vice President of the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs, led a working group to attend the 26th Eurasian Economic Summit in Istanbul.
 
The theme of the summit is "End the distrust, begin the Cooperation". More than 300 participants from around 40 countries, international and regional organizations conducted discussions on effects of new order, energy and food crisis, supply chain stability, sustainable economic recovery, youth thoughts, women's rights and the Ukraine Crisis. Turkish President Erdogan and Azerbaijan President Aliyev sent messages of congratulation to the summit. More than 10 statesmen including former Presidents and Prime Ministers from European and Asian countries were present at the summit.
 
Li Jie delivered a speech on the summit,highlighting that China is committed to address the global development and security problems with Chinese solutions such as the theory of a Human Community for a Shared Future, the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, and the Chinese Path to Modernization proposed by the 20th CPC National Congress. On the summit he also signed a memorandum of understanding on exchange and cooperation with the Marmara Group Foundation on behalf of the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs.
 
On the sidelines of the summit, the working group visited former Turkish President Abdullah Gül, and had in-depth discussions with prominent Turkish experts and scholars.
