Vice-President Cai Jinbiao Meets with Liberian Ambassador H.E. Mrs. Rita Dukuly Tolbert

       On appointment of Liberian ambassador to China H.E. Mrs. Rita Dukuly Tolbert, Vice-President of CPIFA Ambassador Cai Jinbiao went to her residence for a dinner on March 2, 2010. Both sides made positive comments on Sino-Liberian relationship and affirmed the rapid development of bilateral ties since the diplomatic relations between China and Liberia were resumed in 2003. They also exchanged views on how to further strengthen the cooperation between the CPIFA and the embassy of Liberia in China.
       Ambassador Tolbert spoke highly of China’s great achievements in development as well as the “people-oriented” governing concept of the Chinese Government. She believed that of China’s developments, first and foremost is the full development achieved on the people. She also expressed her heartfelt thanks to the Chinese government and people for constantly providing support and selfless assistance to the Liberian people.
       Amb. Cai appreciated Liberia’s firm support to China on issues including Taiwan and Tibet. He also affirmed Ambassador Tolbert’s great efforts in enhancing Sino-Liberian relations during her term of service in China, particularly in promoting the exchange of visits between the presidents of two nations. Amb. Cai also briefed on the CPIFA’s major work towards Africa in recent years. He said that the CPIFA hosted two groups of Liberian Provincial Governors last year. All 15 Provincial Governors of Liberia were invited to visit China within one year, which was first ever in CPIFA’s history, showing our close relationship with Liberia and our great attention towards African affairs. Besides, CPIFA has organized fourteen consecutive seminars for Senior African Diplomats since 1996, with good results. The program has played a promoting role in smooth development of the Sino-African relations.
       In addition, they exchanged views on Sino-US relations, Liberian election and its relations with neighboring countries.
