Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair Visits China

       Mr. Tony Blair, former British Prime Minister, visited China with his family from 26 to 30 July as guests of CPIFA. In Beijing, Mr. Li Shenglin, Minister of Transportation, Mr. Zhang Xiaoqiang, Vice Minister in charge of NDRC, Ambassador Yang Wenchang, President of CPIFA, Mr. Li Kemu, Vice Chairman of China Insurance Regulatory Commission (CRIC), and Mr. Kong Dan, President of CITIC Group, met with Mr. Blair. The two sides exchanged views on China’s macroeconomic policy, cooperation between China and the West, U.S. foreign policy and EU integration. In Shanghai, Vice Mayor Tu Guangshao met with Mr. Blair, who also toured the Expo and gave a lecture on Understanding China and Its Role in the World at SIIS. Mr. Blair attended the opening session of 2010 Guiyang Eco-Forum at which he made a keynote speech.
