Princess of the Kingdom of Tonga Her Royal Highness Salote Pilolevu Tuita visited china

       At the invitation of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA), a delegation led by Her Royal Highness Salote Pilolevu Tuita, Princess of the Kingdom of Tonga, visited Shanghai, Hangzhou, Jiaxing, Changzhou, Zhenjiang and Nanjing from June 21 to August 3. During the visit, Vice Mayor Tang Dengjie of the Shanghai Municipal Government, Vice Governor Gong Zheng of Zhejiang Province, Vice Governor Xu Ming of Jiangsu Province, Mayor Liu Handong and Vice Mayor Chen Jianshe of the Zhenjiang Municipal Government and Vice Mayor Zhu Rui of the Changzhou Municipal Government met with the group and hosted banquet in honor of the delegation respectively. Her Royal Highness attended and addressed the ceremony of the National Pavilion Day for the Kingdom of Tonga at the 2010 Shanghai World Expo. She said as the earliest country on earth to greet the sunrise, Tonga welcomes visitors to come to the Tongan Pavilion to feel the unique charm of the Tongan culture. She also hopes more development opportunities would be brought to Tonga through the participation of the 2010 Shanghai World Expo. In addition, the delegation also visited the Shanghai Construction Corporation, the Huawei Shanghai R&D Center, Changzhou Science & Education Town, Changzhou Women & Children Activity Center, Zhenjiang Museum, Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s Mausoleum and Nanjing Museum, toured the famous local attractions.
