At the invitation of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA), Mr. Joschka Fischer, former German Vice Chancellor and Foreign Minister, visited Beijing from 28 February to 3 March. Mr. Li Zhaoxing, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC), Professor Liu He, Vice Minister fo the Office of the Central Leading Group on Financial and Economic Affairs, Ms. Fu Ying, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yang Wenchang, President of CPIFA, Mr. Cui Liru, President of the China Institiute of Comtemporary International Relations (CICIR) and Professor Pan Jiahua, Director of the Research Center for Sustainable Development (RCSD) at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, met with Mr. Fischer respectively. The two sides exchanged views on Sino-EU relations, European integration process and other issues of mutual interest.
