Constitution

I. This institute shall be named the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA).

II. The purposes shall be to study international issues and foreign policies, carry out international exchanges and engage in people's diplomatic activities, with a view to enhancing the mutual understanding and friendly cooperation between the peoples of China and all other countries in the world.

III. According to the needs of the Institute's work, scholars and specialists accomplished in international studies, personages with rich experience in diplomatic and international activities and social celebrities shall be appointed upon invitation to be members of the CPIFA Council.

IV. Rights and Obligations of the Members of the CPIFA Council:
  i. Participate in various activities arranged by the Institute;
  ii. Make suggestions and provide assistance to the Institute's work;
  iii. Abide by CPIFA Constitution and relevant regulations.

V. The tenure of Council Members shall be three years.

VI. The Institute shall be headed by one President, four Vice-Presidents and one Secretary General. They shall constitute the leading organ of the Institute, serve as Executive Members of the Council and preside over the work of the Institute. A number of Deputy Secretaries General shall assist the President and Vice-Presidents in handling day-to-day work.

VII. Funds of the Institute shall be from donations from various social circles and governmental subsidies.

VIII. CPIFA shall be based in Beijing (No. 71, Nanchizi Street).
