US Congressional Staff Delegation Organized by the US-Asia Institute Visited China

At the invitation of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA), US Congressional Staff Delegation organized by the US-Asia Institute visited Beijing, Wuhan and Shiyan from October 6-13, 2019.

In Beijing, Amb. Zhao Weiping, Vice President of CPIFA and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs met with the delegation respectively and exchanged views on China-US relations, bilateral economic and trade cooperation as well as other issues of common interest. The delegation also had a discussion with scholars of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

In Wuhan, Mr. Wu Jianmin, Vice President of the Hubei Provincial People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries met with the delegation and briefed them on local economic and social development. The delegation also had discussions with the Department of Ecological Environment of Hubei Province, the Development and Reform Commission of Hubei Province and Wuhan University, and visited the Primary School affiliated to Wuhan University.

In Shiyan, Mr.Wang Jimin, Deputy Party Secretary of Shiyan Municipal Committee of CPC met with the delegation and exchanged views with them on local economic and social development. The delegation also visited EGT Passenger Car Company and Xianfeng Automobile Mould Company.
