The 6th Silk Road (Dunhuang) International Cultural Expo was held in Dunhuang, Gansu province from September 5 to 7, 2023. Mr. Li Shulei, Member of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau, Member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech. Mr. Jean Brunelle Razafitsiandraofa, Vice President of the National Assembly of Madagascar, Mr. Kubatbek Boronov, Former Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Mr. Essam Sharaf, Former Prime Minister of Egypt among other 1200 guests from over 50 countries and regions and international organizations as well as domestic participants attended the Expo. Mme. Shi Ling, Vice President of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA) attended the Expo. With the theme of “Connecting the World: Cultural Exchanges and Mutual Learning among Civilizations”, the Expo aims to facilitate the Belt and Road cooperation and promote international cultural exchanges.   
 
During the event, Mme. Shi Ling met with Mr. Kubatbek Boronov, Former Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, who attended the Expo at the invitation of the CPIFA. Both sides exchanges views on Sino-Kyrgyzstan relations and the people-to-people exchanges between the CPIFA and Kyrgyzstan.
